The “Songwriter Man” CD, released on December 13, 2004, is the sixth album of eight offered by Joseph Francis Michael Pokorny and RyKy Records™ (all since October 1st, 2003!).
“Songwriter Man” is a musical portfolio of America’s truly remarkable songwriter. Joseph F.M. Pokorny’s versatility is astounding, his creativity alive. He is the Songwriter Man!
Featuring vocals and synthesizer by Joe, with Don McCarty on guitar, the album is a compilation of original songs written and composed by Pokorny.
The songs represent diversified genre – Contemporary Rock, 50’s Rock and Roll, Broadway Ballad, Upbeat Broadway, Contemporary Ballad, Latin, Charleston/Dixieland, and Rap/Dance.
Most of the songs are from musicals Pokorny has written…
“Take It On Down”, “I Had A Dream”, and “Too Soon Forgotten” are from the “Save The Earth Musical”.
“Starlight”, “A Change Of Heart”, and “Survival”, are from “The Obstacle Course Musical”.
“Songwriter Man”, “A Vision”, “Philadelphia”, and “Why Can’t Things Be Like They Used To Be?” are from “Philadelphia, The Rock And Roll Musical”.
And “Someone To Believe In” is from the musical “Dance, Dance, Dancin’”.
Also on the album is a song, “Can The Spam”, co-written with Neal R. Voron.
